Our Statistics MSc will provide you with the essential knowledge and skills relevant for a career as a professional statistician or researcher.

As the data we generate increases, so does the global demand for analysts who can apply modern statistical methods, to make sense of it. In-depth understanding and skills in statistical techniques have a broad range of applications in the modern world. Thanks to the more widespread use of data and statistical analysis required to interpret it, career opportunities for statisticians are expected to grow in areas including:

Course structure

You'll study two compulsory modules covering the fundamentals in statistics, which provides the basis for the remaining optional modules. These include, amongst others:

Statistical Machine Learning
Applied Statistical Modelling
Time Series and Forecasting

This course gives you the flexibility to tailor the degree to your interests and career aspirations.

You will develop advanced statistical skills and knowledge which will enable you to test theories, learn how to interpret large and complex data, and to extract relevant insights from it. The masters will enable you to develop computing skills in using R too
