Program Introduction
This programme offers you the opportunity to undertake in-depth study on a
chosen aspect of film and cinema studies. Following first semester
modules in Research Methods and in Media, Culture, and Creativity, you
embark on a 40,000 word dissertation (or practice-based equivalent).
Specialist film staff across the College of Arts and Humanities at Bangor
will be on hand to supervise, as you develop, sustain, consolidate and
resolve a self-directed programme of work in the field of film studies,
either creative or theoretical, over an extended period of time. The
MRes is supported by a dedicated College-wide seminar series, which
offers you the opportunity to present your own work in progress, and to
develop an understanding of critical paradigms and research in Bangor
and beyond.
