At the Department of Civil Engineering, you will receive the education you need to shape the world we live in. From designing, managing and maintaining flood defence systems, bridges, buildings, water treatment facilities, highways and more, you are pursuing a profession that will challenge you to keep the world’s crucial infrastructure safe and efficient, and adapt it to meet the demands of the future.
As you work towards your bachelor of engineering (BEng) degree, you will have the opportunity to conduct applied research with our industrial and government partners, and participate in an optional paid co-operative internship. You will also have the option to enroll in a two-year specialized structural engineering option, or choose between the environmental or transportation streams in fourth year.
All of this plus student competitions, an optional specialization in management sciences, and leading-edge facilities will leave you well-equipped to make an impact on society. The civil engineering BEng degree program is accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.
